EP 116: Healing Our Relationship with Men and God with Jen Porteous

In this episode, I’m joined by Jen Porteous as she shares her multifaceted journey of suffering from burnout in her corporate career, having a failed marriage, and balancing working and being a mother. She fell victim to the narratives of not needing a man in her life, which sent negative messages to her boys, who would grow up to be men. She went on a personal journey and changed her relationship with herself, with God, with men, money, her children, and her friendships with women.

Projecting negative views of men onto her boys.

Where the narrative stems from that men are wrong and women don’t need them.

How hookup culture created a disconnect between men and women.

Where the respect of men went out the window.

How the “boss babe” culture negatively impacts our view of men.

The steps Jen took to heal her relationship with men and God.

What led Jen into the New Age and why she decided to break free from it.

The idea of smashing the patriarchy and goddess culture in the New Age.

Giving it to God and surrendering vs. being in battle on your own.  Tuning into your womanly wisdom and insight.

What the Bible says about manifestations.

False idols and goddess culture.

The difference between an attitude and an embodiment.

How Jen’s interactions with men have changed.

The main things that men need from women.

Communication should not be a competition, but a collaboration.

Courting vs dating and embracing your feminine embodiment.

Practices that women should bring into their feminine.
